  • June 8th between 3pm and 4pm
  • June 10th between 11am and 4pm

Can I sell my work during the exhibition?

  • If a collector would like to purchase your artwork during the event you will need to work with them to process the payment at your studio or other location, outside of this event. Studio One Art Center does not allow the exchange of funds of any type on the premises

Will Studio One Art Center, Oakland Art Murmur or East Bay Open Studios collect a commission on sales?

  • No. 100% of the proceeds from any sales of your artwork are yours to keep.
  • NOTE – there is a line in the Studio One release forms that reads “The artist agrees that Studio One Art Center retain 30% commission of all artwork sold. ” This is only the case if you sell work on the premises. We advise you to make arrangements with collectors to purchase work another time. We will refer all purchase inquiries to your contact information located on the EBOS website and in the guide

What type of artwork will be accepted?

  • Because the hosting venue is part of the City of Oakland Parks and Recreation Department we are unable to display artwork depicting nudity or violence. Please get in touch by sending an email to [email protected] if you would like to discuss further

What kinds and sizes of artwork do you accept?

  • We will accept hanging artwork that will fit within a 24″ by 24″ surface area
  • 2D artwork MUST BE READY TO HANG! We will not accept artwork that is does not have an acceptable hanging system or frame. We reserve the right to reject artwork that is not prepared for exhibition.
  • There is a locked, glass etagere that is available for work that is not appropriate to hang or too fragile to be left accessible

When can the public view my artwork?

  • Your artwork will be on view beginning May 30th at 6pm through June 8th at 4pm and during Studio One Art Center open hours; Monday – Saturday (closed on Sunday)

Will this be a juried exhibition?

  • All EBOS participating artists are welcome to submit one artwork in the exhibition. There is no additional charge to participate.

Will there be any awards, accolades or recognition provided during the exhibition?

  • Highest Honor – The Art Circle Award
    • The 2024 Art Circle Award honoree will be selected by well-known Bay Area gallery owner, curator, collector and author Claire Carlevaro. Claire is a wonderful and deeply respected Bay Area original, having been a collector for most of her life. Claire was the founder of the Art Exchange Gallery. For over 30 years she specialized in resale, representing individuals and institutions needing to sell artwork. In addition, she held exhibitions of woman artists working from 1930-1970 despite the lack of recognition. Claire closed her gallery in 2011. The Art Circle Award honoree will be provided the opportunity to work with Claire to create a brochure to use as a marketing tool for your art practice. Oh, and Claire will pick up the printing costs! In addition, the honoree will receive a $100 gift card from Blick Art Materials
  • Runner Up Honor – Juror’s Choice Award
    • The 2024 Juror’s Choice honoree will be selected by well-known Bay Area gallery owner, curator, collector and author Claire Carlevaro. The Juror’s Choice honoree will receive a $100 gift card from Blick Art Materials
