Sandy Olgeirson

Sandy Wren Olgeirson is a wood and ceramic artist based in Oakland, California. With a foundation in the performing arts and experience as a theater scene shop technician, Sandy’s creative journey began in the world of theater. She studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, where her love for storytelling and mythology took root.

For the past seven years, Sandy has been dedicated to exploring the realms of sculpture and ceramic arts. Her work is deeply influenced by her theatrical background and by the Jungian analysis of thinkers like Clarissa Pinkola Estés and Joseph Campbell, whose exploration of archetypes and the collective unconscious inform her artistic vision. She also draws inspiration from the rich tradition of magical realism found in the works of storytellers like Salman Rushdie, Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende, and others. These influences converge in Sandy's art, resulting in a body of work that evokes the transformative power of myth and the complex, layered realities that magical realism unveils. In every piece, there is a dialogue between the ancient and the contemporary, the personal and the universal, the mundane and the mystical.
