Mila Moldenhawer
Mila Moldenhawer was born in Berkeley, California in 1996, embracing a unique identity as a trans man and first generation American, born to Polish and Indian Immigrants. Growing up in the culturally rich Bay Area, Mila has drawn as much inspiration from his cultural background as he has through urban culture, contemporary queer aesthetics, graffiti and street art.
His work often uses acrylic and aerosol paint on canvas or wood to achieve flamboyant colors, smooth blends, and distinctive shapes; often exploring abstract landscapes and uncanny figures.
Mila received his BA in Art and Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2021. Currently residing and working in Oakland, Mila has exhibited his paintings in galleries across the Bay Area. Beyond gallery spaces, his work extends to walls, where he has created vibrant murals in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville, showcasing Mila's commitment to making art accessible to diverse audiences.
