Kierra Shadé Stanley

BIO
Kierra Shadé is an Oakland-based artist who creates energetic, vibrant abstract work that sparks imagination and evokes personal emotional experiences. Born in South Carolina, 1991, as a bi-racial woman, many of her paintings explore contrast, transformative moments, reclamation of self and power, and expressions of the feminine. While masterfully using color, fluid form and movement, with careful layering to capture the essence of her own life experiences and that of the collective – the true mesmerizing quality of her art flows from the purest form of joy she experiences in both the process and result of creating. In the words of one viewer, Kierra serves as a “lightning rod” – grounding energies and emotions to then be expressed in visual form.

STATEMENT
I create art from wells of deep devotion, love, joy, and a true desire to impact and change the world for the better. My art tends to encompass both expressions of humanity and divinity, nature and the universe – serving as a reminder to us of who we really are. Through these explorations, I aim to connect with true states of flow and timelessness, providing a source of healing for myself and my viewers - creating a ripple effect as a profound gift. I am also passionate about empowering others through my artwork and sharing my journey - inspiring others to create and see the potential within themselves.
