Mark making is the soul freeing exercise in beginning a painting, as well as a way into a blank slate which can induce dread! I am on the 10,000 hour journey of establishing my own painting language, but with a steely determination and mostly joy on that path. Having had a career in the commercial arts as a women’s clothing designer and manufacturer, painting fills a different sensibility that is satisfying to the soul.
