Christine Federici

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Drama 1973 – Mercyhurst College, Erie PA.

I had a career as a modern dancer and dance teacher in NYC and the SF bay area for 25 years.

I had the great fortune to work as an assistant to NYC photographer, artist, and performer, Maryette Charleton, who inspired me to take up photography.

At age 50 I began classes in photography at the San Francisco Academy of Art University. I continued there for 4 years eventually focusing on advanced darkroom techniques with documentary photographer, Frank Espada.

As digital photography evolved, I continued shooting film and printing in the darkroom.

I love the Zen experience of spending hours in the darkroom working with one negative producing a few great prints!

Studio is located on the second floor and requires walking a flight of stairs.
