Carol Sconzert

I grew up in a small town in upstate NY on the edge of Lake Ontario, enjoying lush green summers and snow-bound winters with art and sewing projects all the way through a BFA degree and a summer study in France. After a career in designing conventions and conferences I finally returned to my passion in painting.
Today the many layers in my work recall obscure bits of experiences over a lifetime that can ‘find each other’ and reconnect into new meaning. I enjoy the similarity to the cycles of nature — seed, growth, fruit, harvest, fallow — nothing is ever “gone”, it is all there and we season through our lives. My artwork reminds me that each moment of life is both brief and eternal. I enjoy hearing how viewers see their own stories in my artwork and bring new meaning to them.
