Tatille Jackson

Description

Born in New York, shaped by Atlanta, and based in Oakland, Tatille Jackson is a self-taught artist introduced to fiberworks by her grandmother. She weaves textiles, natural materials, and the written word to create pieces that invite people to reflect on our shared human experience. Her work is an exploration in color, perspective, and the profound that aspires to challenge what we currently know to be true. She is inspired by the opportunity to restore, reconstitute, and celebrate the value in material with previous lives. This can be seen in her reconditioned wood frames, skirts turned into scenes, and fallen branches that give life to landscapes. Her art is an offering of connection in her chosen language.
