Bruce Pizzichillo & Dari Gordon

Description

Bruce Pizzichillo and Dari Gordon are internationally known artists who have been producing their unique glass artwork in their Oakland studio since 1980. They create large, colorful, award-winning handblown glass vases, sculptural vessels, bowls, lighting, and jewelry, as well as intriguing glass and mixed media sculptures and wall art. Their work has been exhibited nationwide as well as abroad, and featured in numerous collections, galleries and publications.
Using glassmaking techniques that are thousands of years old, along with many of their own invention, Bruce and Dari melt clear glass in their furnace to a temperature of over 2000 degrees fahrenheit. They use a palette of distinctive colors by made from various metallic oxide formulations containing gold, silver, cobalt and others, along with the molten clear glass.
