Ellen Zucker

I step up to the blank canvas, excited to make those first wild abstract marks with brush, stick or rag, color dripping from my hand. The suggestion of a human figure calls to me from the jumble of shapes, colors and lines. I pursue the suggestion. I love the wordless meeting of inner and outer experience, the call and response between the canvas and my own visceral responses. I answer a question that has no words with an answer that has no reasons, just yes to one mark and no to another. There's no better way for me to spend a day.
