Javier Perez is a Latino sculptor, ceramicist, and jeweler living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Educated at California College of Arts and Crafts, he worked as a jewelry designer . His avocation included his own line of jewelry, but predominantly focused on figurative sculpture and ceramic art. Now retired, he works from his own studio in El Cerrito, California.
This installation features a collection of his ceramic pieces, figurative sculpture, and clay coiled vessels. A video accompanies the installation with elders sharing their favorite dichos and its importance in their own life
