Adriana Malavé

December 2 & 3, 11am - 5pm

Adriana Malavé (she/they) is a visual artist living and working in Oakland, CA. They received a BA in Art Practice from UC Berkeley where they focused mainly in sculpture and installation art. After graduation, they shifted to painting and illustration, first diving into hyperrealism then shifting to minimal abstraction.

Their newest works are intuitive meditations with intentionally visited landscapes and their native species, often integrating small doses of plant infusions with their pigments. Recently completing an art residency in their ancestral homeland of Gran Canaria, they are currently building a new body of work based on the endemic plant species, archaeological iconography, and architectural patterns found upon the island.
